THE ORIGIN AND POWER OF OMKARAKSHETRAM
The journey of OMKARAKSHETRAM began in early 2013, when SAI PRIYA COLONY DAMMAIGUDA a community of 225 plots was still in its formative stage. The SAI PRIYA COLONY WELFARE ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, comprising mostly retired members was working with dedication to transform the colony into a vibrant community.
During this time, SHRI CH.NAGA SUDARSHAN RAO proposed the idea of building a temple within the colony. After thoughtful consideration, the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE embraced the vision and began working with sincerity and devotion.
Through collective opinion, LORD SHIVA was chosen as the presiding deity. Necessary approvals were sought, and with no objections raised the committee initiated the process by collecting donations. A renowned STAPATHI from the STATE ENDOWMENT DEPARTMENT was engaged and under his guidance the temple foundation was laid in MAY 2013.
Though challenges arose including objections from nearby residents the committee’s resolve only strengthened. With unwavering faith in LORD SHIVA and generous support from donors within and outside the colony, construction moved forward. By FEBRUARY 2015, the idols of SHIVA LINGAM, NAVAGRAHALU, LALITHA TRIPURA SUNDARI, SRI RAMA PARIVAR, PANCHAYATANA DEVATAS, LORD VIGNESWARA, SUBRAMANYA SWAMY, KALA BHAIRAVA were graciously donated by devotees consecrated in a grand ceremony held on 7TH, 8TH 9TH FEBRUARY 2015.
As the number of devotees grew, space around the temple became congested. To accommodate this growth, a 200 SQ. YARD PLOT in front of the temple was acquired through donations and the generosity of the landowner. The steady expansion of the temple and the increasing devotion of worshippers stand as living testimony to the divine grace and power of SRI OMKARESWARA.
Today, OMKARAKSHETRAM continues to inspire faith, unity spiritual growth among all who visit, carrying forward the legacy of devotion that began with a simple yet powerful idea in 2013.
